Chilly Outside, Warm in the Kitchen
This time of year, I start realizing how much I truly enjoy baking. The warmth of the oven followed by the tantalizing smells of whatever may be transforming into something delectable urges me to continue to use the appliance more often.
I share my home with 4 dogs and 2 cats and I can count on at least a couple of the critters waiting patiently at my feet as I whip up cookie batter, prepare a farm raised chicken for a meal or, most exciting of all, baking the famous I.P.A. Bites dog treats.
Anything that just happens to fall from my grasp and ends up on the floor is instant fair game and it's funny to me that I haven't had to stoop to pick up any stray tidbit over the past 20 or so years that I've owned pets. Who says pets aren't just for companionship?
I'm busily making fresh treats for all of the recent orders and I'm sending out good wishes with all of them for folks that have supported this small business which keeps the farm running. It's going to be exciting to hear what the puppers think of them.
If you need me, I'll be snuggled in the warm kitchen, dog at my feet, trying not to drop too many tidbits on the ground towards a waiting pair of begging puppy dog eyes.
